The former head of the Constitutional Court, Holta Zaçaj, the pedagogue of the Faculty of Economics, Matilda Shehu, and the former economic manager at the Research Department at the Bank of Albania, Selami Xhepa, are the three names who have self-nominated to become part of the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania and who have secured the support of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party of Albania.

Report TV reports that this decision was made during the meeting of the SP group held this Monday.

Luljeta Minxhozi, who had expressed interest in a second term on the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania, was excluded from this selection. Minxhozi was appointed a member in 2018 and has also served as the first deputy governor of the central bank.

Currently, there are 6 vacant positions in the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania, but the Parliament has opened the procedure for only 3 of them, while the other three candidacies will be presented by the government.
