Former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj, in a court session at the GJKKO , has ironized the accusations against him, for being a structured criminal group.
He said that the prosecution has not investigated the contract procedure for the sterilization issue, which according to him, ends on March 8 of this year.
The former minister said that the prosecution described him and his associates as " a three-person criminal group just for stealing."
"I feel like I'm going to say something that's not part of the procedure. The contract we're here for ends on March 8. I would like you to go and see for yourself the reality of the contract. The prosecutors never did. Because according to them, we became a three-person criminal group just to steal. It's an invitation, nothing more. It ends in three weeks and then it makes no sense," Beqaj said before the court.
He hinted that, according to him, the investigation is unfounded on concrete verification of the implementation of the contract on the ground, denying the accusations leveled against him.
It is learned that the hearing was postponed to another date, as both of the former minister's defense lawyers were absent from the courtroom.
We recall that the former minister was arrested by order of SPAK on July 4, 2024 for the SASPAC funds scandal file, where he is accused of abusing foreign donations, while he is also being tried under ordinary procedure for the "Sterilization" file.
Ilir Beqaj is accused of committing theft by abusing the public office of the head of the ministry.
He has sought freedom several times at various levels of the judiciary, but has been overthrown by the black platoons.
The former minister, who has denied SPAK's accusations, even offered a financial guarantee of 50 thousand euros two days after being placed in custody, but his proposal was not accepted.
