Hit by car while crossing the highway, 46-year-old dies on the way to hospital

A fatal accident has been recorded on the Rrëshen-Reps road axis.

A citizen from Kosovo, having just gotten off the bus, attempted to cross to the other side of the highway, being hit by a vehicle.

The injured citizen, Kujtim Aliu, lost his life during transportation to the hospital.

"Around 08:45, on the National Road, near the village of Gëziq, the vehicle driven by Kosovar citizen NR hit citizen KA, about 46 years old, a pedestrian. 

As a result, citizen KA was injured and died during transportation to the hospital.   

The driver of the vehicle was escorted to the police station for procedural actions.

"The investigation team is working to clarify the circumstances of the accident," the police statement said.
