The Director of IT in the State Police, Ervin Muça, was arrested yesterday evening, accused of having interfered in the TIMS system by copying the data.

Today, his testimony before the prosecutors was revealed, where he claimed that the goal was not to export the data outside the State Police, but to back it up.

Meanwhile, during the investigation, it was established that Ervin Muça, despite holding the position of head of such an important department in the State Police, which deals with data, was appointed to this sector, without having a security certificate, News reports. 24.

Yesterday evening, Muca was also suspended from his post as IT director.

"I was appointed to the position of Director of Technology and Information on June 25, 2023. What I want to emphasize is that I have never been employed in the structures of the State Police and therefore I am not equipped with a security certificate. Regarding the email, I was notified on August 3, 2023 at around 9:30 a.m. by the Director General of the State Police. Where I was made aware of the sending of an email by an employee of this directorate, sent to the General Director of Police, where the concern of violation of the standard rules of security of the systems was raised. For this reason, the Directorate started an administrative investigation. Ardit Muço has resigned from his position without giving reasonable reasons. For this reason, an administrative investigation was started against him in August 2023. This is also due to the fact that he did not follow the superior's orders.

On August 2, 2023, I called the head of the IT sector, Ardit Muço, where since the latter had resigned, I asked him to transfer his knowledge of the system to his subordinates within the sector. But since I did not get a response from him, then I ordered his access to the system to be closed. On this day, I also talked with A. V, a specialist in the database sector, regarding the analysis of the backup situation. Where she informed me that there was no actual testing to prove that the back ups are functional. Likewise, I also spoke with two other specialists who told me that the back up procedure was followed by the head of the sector, Ardit Muço, and that they did not have the knowledge to do such a thing.

I ordered the back up to create a stable system and based on a risk analysis, but I guarantee that there was no data exit from the server. On August 2, 2023, I called A. V to come to the Directorate of Technology and Information and talk to the specialists of the sector, in order to perform the back up. Where the back-up test would be kept in an inaccessible copy in the State Police vault. For this reason, on August 2, I asked for the help of my colleague Klodian Mazari, who was working as a sector manager at AKSHI", stated Muça.
