Three Albanians were arrested and a large quantity of drugs was seized in Bologna, Italy, a few days ago.
Police confirmed today the operation to crack down on a drug trafficking organization in Funo di Argelato. The operation was made possible thanks to a targeted investigative effort that identified the group's logistical base and seized a total of 20 kilograms of hashish, as well as 44,500 euros in cash.
The officers focused their attention on an apartment located in Funo di Argelato, believed to be a logistical base for the sale of narcotics. On the afternoon of November 5, 2025, at around 4:00 p.m., a surveillance service in plain clothes was set up near the suspicious apartment.
During the operation, officers observed the youngest of the three, a 20-year-old Albanian man, leaving the building on Via San Giobbe. There, he approached a Renault Clio, inside of which was another Albanian national, 34 years old. The two were seen exchanging several wads of banknotes; then, the younger man took a large white bag from the back door of the Clio, placing it in a Fiat 500 parked nearby.
The police intervened immediately and searched the two men. Inside the white bag, placed in the “Fiat 500”, they found approximately 200 blocks of cannabis, with a total weight of 20 kilograms. Five packages of cash, with a total value of 42,500 euros, were seized in the “Renault Clio” of the 34-year-old Albanian citizen, in addition to another 1,000 euros found inside his backpack.
The search then continued inside the apartment in Funo di Argelato, where police identified a third man, also Albanian, aged 44. Inside the house, they found 1 kilogram of marijuana, 179.66 grams of hashish, drug packaging materials and another 1,000 euros in cash, kept in the backpack of one of the three arrested, Italian media reports.
