The serious incident that occurred in Tirana just two years ago shocked public opinion. Migena Kodra was killed by her brother-in-law while she was sleeping with her 2-year-old daughter.

The latter, after killing his sister-in-law, committed suicide in the yard of the apartment after being seen with his parents, his mother, who was awakened by gunshots.

She claimed to the media at the time that she had immediately gone to the room after hearing her granddaughter's cries, but at the same time she also heard the other shot, the moment her son killed himself. A scene of horror that will probably remain in the memory of that apartment and that family for a long time.

On the other hand, the whole incident remains a mystery since the murder weapon was found far from the body of Migena's brother-in-law, but Migena's husband claimed at the time that he had not been home at night for a year, as he works as a taxi driver, third shift.

But when asked by the editorial staff of the show "With an Open Heart" at the time, he claimed that there had been no previous conflict that could have created bitterness to this point.

Migena's family at the time told of the event that they were informed about it through the media. Even though two years have passed since the serious incident, Migena's two children are in a deep conflict over their attitude towards their grandfather and grandmother.

On the one hand, Migena's father, Kasemi, confesses that for more than a year he has been fighting with his son-in-law because he wants to return the children to the apartment, the same apartment where their mother was killed.

In the studio of the show "With an Open Heart" by author and moderator Evis Ahmeti on News24, he confessed that after his daughter passed away, it was a very difficult period for the children.

"It was a very difficult period. She was not killed on the street or on the floor, but on the mattress with a child in her arms. The little girl was in an extraordinary trauma, she cried all night and only fell asleep in the morning from exhaustion. The son was in the same situation.
We took custody because he could not take care of both children, he could not cope.
The former son-in-law showed mental defects. When he took one child in his arms, he could not take both of them. He did not contribute a single lek to the children," he said.
