The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in his speech to the media, after the meeting of the Democratic Party parliamentary group ended, was asked if he would appear at SPAK on Friday, January 21, as there is a summons against him.
Berisha said he will appear, adding that he has long been seeking an international prosecutor for the tragic event.
"I have not received any summons, because they give the summons to journalists before giving it to me. I will go to SPAK, because I am the person who requested the investigation of January 21, I requested international prosecutors to investigate the events. Rama has obstructed the investigation since 2013, when Edi Rama has justice in his hands. I go to every summons. Let what happened that day be fully investigated," said Berisha.
Further, Berisha also spoke about the local by-elections, stating that they were an electoral farce.
"The local elections were a farce. Albania has only electoral farce. This is an authoritarian dictatorship. Intellectual citizens supported by the DP make it impossible, but it was found that there are no elections here, but there is a farce," he said.
According to Berisha, the parliament has gone off the "rails" of legality and that the DP will do everything to place itself within the framework of legality.
"We will do everything to ensure that the parliament functions on the basis of the Constitution and laws. The parliament today is an instrument against the opposition, it no longer deals with the rights of Albanian citizens and their interests. The debate has been interrupted at any time, when the opposition has requested it. The debate was stopped in 9 sessions. Boycott is not an option for the opposition", declared Berisha.
Sali Berisha also spoke about the protest that the opposition will hold in front of the Prime Minister's Office.
"The platform in front of the prime minister's office will have two goals, firstly, the demand for the removal of Edi Rama. The platform will be on certain days, mostly on Sunday. It will lead to a national protest," Berisha concluded.
