A serious incident occurred in the early hours of this morning in the village of Lapardha , in the Municipality of Selenica , where an 85-year-old man was found dead by his family.

It is reported that the cause of death of the elderly man is suspected to be smoke asphyxiation, after the 85-year-old's apartment was engulfed in an accidental fire.

It is reported that the police are at the scene and are investigating the full causes of the incident.

Police announcement:

Today, at around 02:50, in the village of Lapardha, Selenica, citizen KA, 85 years old, was found dead in his apartment by his family.

Initial investigations suggest that he died as a result of smoke asphyxiation, caused by an accidental fire in his apartment.

Investigative actions continue to fully clarify the circumstances of this event.
