The vote counting center in Laç is facing a tense situation.
When the counting is heading to the last boxes, the race between the socialist candidate Majlinda Cara and her opposition rival, Behar Haxhiu, remains close.
In 68 polling stations counted out of 74 in total, the socialist mayor leads with 465 more votes. Due to such close competition, the process has been tense and interrupted several times.
For this reason, the police and FNSH have "armored" the external premises of the CEAZ where the counting process is taking place.
They are standing by the order of the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Ilirjan Celibashi, to avoid incidents.
Celibashi has also sent CEC inspectors to closely follow the counting process.
