Young people seek to become architects and doctors, abandon other branches: 5 students choose "Physics" and 8 "Chemistry"!

This Monday, October 7, thousands of students addressed the auditoriums for the first time.

But, unlike previous years, this year a decrease in the number of students in the universities of our country has been noticed.

According to the data made public by the University Application Portal itself, until Friday (October 4), 8,775 thousand quotas from public universities were free out of 19,212 approved in total.

According to the same portal, it turns out that at the end of the second phase of registrations there are still thousands of unfilled quotas, while a total of 10,437 students were registered.

This drastic decrease in the number of graduates who did not prefer to continue their studies has brought the risk of closing some branches.

Environmental Science is the least popular branch at the University of Tirana, where only 2 graduates have decided to enroll this year. Then the other branch which is less popular is that of Physics where only 5 students are registered. Also in Chemistry there was a small number of registrations, with 8 students.

On the other hand, one of the most preferred branches at the University of Tirana is Economic Informatics, where only 4 quotas have remained free out of 240 in total.

Computer engineering continues to be in demand at the Polytechnic University, as is architecture. The architect, town planner and interior/design departments do not have any vacancies at this registration stage.

Meanwhile, engineering of mineral resources, geology and geoenvironment are the three branches with the fewest registrations this year at the Polytechnic University, writes newsbomb.

Meanwhile, the Agricultural University has been chosen so far by 638 students. In this university, the most popular branches are; agribusiness management and rural tourism management.

Whereas, in the agro-food engineering branch, there is only 1 registered. Even animal husbandry and livestock product safety have only 2 registrations, while forestry engineering has 5 registered students.

This year, the eyes of the graduates were focused on the branches of medicine. Referring to U-Albania data, this year the University of Medicine has only 146 free quotas out of the 1,624 it had in total. General medicine, pharmacy and dentistry have no vacancies.
