The next preliminary hearing for the case of Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi is expected to take place at the GJKKO today. Judge Irena Gjoka will decide whether the case will proceed to trial or not.
The previous hearing was postponed due to the absence of Kryemadhi's lawyer. During the hearing, Judge Gjoka also decided to suspend the pre-trial detention terms for the former president.
SPAK closed the investigations on July 28, while the file was sent for trial at the end of August, which included three investigations into a CEZ-DIA affair, LSI lobbying in the US, and an asset investigation. Meta and Kryemadhi are accused of passive corruption, money laundering, and failure to declare assets.
