Today is the national PROTEST of the DP, here are the roads blocked in Tirana!

As announced by the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha , the DP will hold a national protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office today, January 24th.

The protest is expected to start at 5:00 PM. Berisha has stated that this protest will be powerful and that Rama will leave power.

Meanwhile, the police have taken measures to ensure the smooth running of the protest. Several main segments will be blocked for private vehicles, including the "Dëshmorët e Kombit" boulevard to "Ismail Qemali" street.

From 15:00 until the end of the rally, the segment from the Ministry of Interior to “Mother Teresa” Square and the streets “Free Ukraine”, “Papa John Paul II” and “Ismail Qemali” will be blocked. Citizens are advised to use alternative routes and respect police instructions so as not to impede the movement of participants.

Blockages and traffic restrictions

As part of the protest, Tirana Police announces that there will be traffic restrictions and parking bans on several main axes of the capital.

Specifically, from 23:45 yesterday evening, traffic will be blocked and parking of vehicles will not be allowed until the end of the rally on 'Dëshmorët e Kombit' boulevard to 'Ismail Qemali' street.

Also, today, from 3:00 PM until the end of the protest, there will be a complete blockage of vehicle traffic on several important road segments.

 "There will be a traffic jam on 'Dëshmorët e Kombit' Boulevard, from the intersection near the Ministry of Interior to 'Mother Teresa' Square, as well as on 'Ukraine e Lirë', 'Papa John Paul II' and 'Ismail Qemali' streets," the police announced.

Traffic diversion

The police warn that, depending on the development of the rally and the situation on the ground, there may be restrictions on other road axes in the capital.

In such cases, measures have been provided to divert traffic to alternative routes, in order to facilitate movement for citizens. 

"In the event of a blockage, to help citizens who will be circulating on these axes, Tirana Police has taken measures to divert vehicle traffic to alternative routes," the announcement further states.

In conclusion, Tirana Police appeal to citizens to avoid driving in areas that will be blocked and to use alternative routes, so as not to impede the progress of the rally.

Also, referring to several public statements, the authorities call on citizens to distance themselves from any illegal actions.

 "We call on citizens to distance themselves if they are faced with illegal actions that violate public order and security," concludes the Tirana Police announcement.
