The first court hearing for the former director of the Albanian Radio Television, Thoma Gëllçi, has been postponed. The reason was the absence of Judge Irena Gjoka. The latter will appear before the Special Appellate Panel on Thursday due to the appeal made by the Public Commissioner against the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission to reconfirm him in office.
SPAK passed the case against Thoma Gëllçi for trial on April 20 of this year. He is accused of abuse of office together with the three members of the bid evaluation commission Julian Tapia, Alban Malaveci and Ervin Murja, after being accused of violating equality in tenders.
It is about the tender with object "Purchase of equipment for the channel RTSh Agro", with a limit fund of 86 million ALL without VAT, conducted on 09 October 2018 by the contracting authority Albanian Radio Television. RTSH Agro channel is dedicated to culture and agriculture. According to SPAK, KVO members have committed legal violations in the procurement procedure of this tender.
