Italian media have published strong details about the connections that the Albanian mafia has with the Italian one. Recently, the testimonies of Antonio Guastalegname, the entrepreneur of Vibo Marina, a new collaborator of justice, were also published.
Prosecutors have been able to uncover the 53-year-old's contacts with two leaders of the 'Ndrangheta del Vibonese' but also with arms and drug traffickers, one of her main specialties.
Contacts with Albanian traffickers
Speaking of drugs and narcotics, Guastalegname mentions several times and recognizes in the photo album shown to Valerio Navarra, who is considered by investigators to be very close to Zungri boss Antonio Giuseppe Accorinti, a local from Vibonese, but who moved to Tuscany, the operating base of his business.
"Navarra - as the penitent reports - had contacts with Albanian subjects. " The latter - says Guastalegname - had the support of the Albanian government, if I remember correctly the corrupt subject was the Minister of Justice or Interior or in any case an important Albanian political figure ."
A connection that the justice collaborator says he learned from a certain Edward or Robert during a trip to Florence-Bologna: “ He proposed to sell it directly, without intermediaries. Their drugs in the stadiums of Piedmont and to seduce me underlined the ease with which they could organize imports of "grass" believing in the 'support of the Albanian government' (his expression) thanks to which they could afford matches large without fear of controls “.
For the investigators it would be Robert Lazaj, born in Albania in 1972. The same one that Guastalegname knows in the photo: "I confirm - he underlines - that this is the person I was referring to and is a relative of the Albanian government minister who has ensure the coverage of these traffics ”.
