A 41-year-old Greek man was taken hostage and raped in Kostur, an area near the border with Albania. The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday, December 15.

The victim got into a vehicle driven by a 37-year-old Albanian man in good faith, who, under the threat of a pistol and using violence, took her to a forest area in Kostur.

The 41-year-old Greek man, under unclear circumstances, managed to be released and reported the case to the police. The police managed to identify the kidnapper's vehicle, which turned out to be a rented one.

The vehicle was spotted in the Kostur area, with a 29-year-old Greek man as a passenger and a 25-year-old Greek woman as the driver inside. It is learned that the 29-year-old was the one who rented the vehicle and gave it to the Albanian to carry out the hostage-taking. Police have arrested the Greek couple and have declared the Albanian wanted.

According to the investigation, it is suspected that this is a drug settlement. Surprisingly, the 29-year-old Greek and the 37-year-old Albanian were arrested on December 11 of this year for two different cases, but were later released, reports Prothotema.gr.

The Albanian was arrested after being sentenced to 1 year and 3 months in prison and a 3,000 euro fine for violating legislation on foreigners and giving false evidence.

Meanwhile, the Greek was arrested after a personal search and a search of his three apartments found and seized quantities of marijuana, hashish and cocaine, 2 pistols, ammunition and a sum of money.
