A serious incident occurred today in Berat , where a 47-year-old man died after being crushed by a rock mass while working.

According to the police, the incident occurred at noon today in the "13 Shtatori" neighborhood, on Kalasë Street.

It is learned that during the works by a private entity, a massive stone broke off and crushed the entity's worker, a citizen with the initials GS, 47 years old, resident of Berat.

After being pulled from the rock mass, the 47-year-old was taken to the hospital, but was unable to escape the injuries he sustained.

Police announcement:

At around 11:30, in the "13 Shtatori" neighborhood, on Kalasë Street, during works by a private entity, a massive stone fell and crushed the entity's worker, citizen GS, 47 years old, resident of Berat.

Police and fire services were able to extract citizen GS from the rock massif and transported him by ambulance to the hospital, but as a result of his injuries, the 47-year-old lost his life.

The investigation team is at the scene and is working to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
