An Albanian man has been arrested after 10 kg of cocaine was found in the "Alfa Romeo" vehicle he was traveling in on the highway in the Cassino area of Italy (Frosinone).
The action took place days ago, but was published today in the media of the neighboring country. It was the driver's nervous attitude that led police officers to conduct a detailed inspection of the vehicle.
He gave suspicious answers regarding his destination, the details of the vehicle he owned, and where he was coming from.
Under the cover of the spare wheel compartment, a large plastic bag containing "bricks" of cocaine was found, Italian media reports. The market value of the drug, if sold at retail, would generate at least 1 million euros in revenue.
The driver was subsequently arrested on charges of possession and trafficking of narcotics and transferred to the Cassino prison, at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
