A new report from Data in Race, based on data from the international platform Numbeo, has ranked the countries with the lowest quality of life in 2025. The index measures overall well-being through factors such as safety, healthcare, cost of living, climate, and public infrastructure.
At the top of the list of the worst performing countries is Nigeria with just 21.5 points, followed by Bangladesh (73.9), Venezuela (79.7) and Sri Lanka (87.5). Below are Egypt, Iran, Peru, Vietnam, the Philippines, Lebanon and Kenya, countries that share common problems such as lack of political stability and fragile economies.
In this ranking, Albania occupies a place that should raise public alarm: with an index of 104.3 points, our country is among the countries with a low quality of life, alongside countries like Pakistan, Indonesia and Thailand.
This result shows that despite promises of economic development and 'reforms' in health and social welfare, the real life of Albanian citizens remains difficult.
Rising prices, the lack of jobs with decent wages, as well as the perception of insecurity and lack of quality services, are making Albania an increasingly challenging place to live.
At a time when the government continues to talk about "economic stability" and "increased well-being," international reports show another reality: every day, more and more citizens feel tired, insecure, and distrustful of institutions.
This report is a call for reflection: numbers speak louder than propaganda. Quality of life is not measured in words, but in people's daily lives.
