The Ministry of the Interior announced that on July 31, 2023, the concessionary contract for the production of biometric documents ends.

The announcement stated that from August 1, 2023 onwards, the service will be offered without interruption to citizens by the state company "IdentiTek".

Meanwhile, the ALEAT company coupons that expire on July 26, the applicants cannot use, as in numerous reports from the citizens, it is said that the system has crashed.

After the deadline on July 26, Albanians will have to buy new coupons and in this way, anyone who has old coupons will lose them and will have to buy them again.

From August 1, applications will continue with the new coupons of the state company "IdentiTek", which you can find in all offices of the Albanian Post.

The Ministry of the Interior and "IdentiTek" are committed to guarantee the standard of documents produced and the continuation of the process of equipping citizens with ID cards and biometric passports without interruption, in the same offices both inside and outside the country.
