NATO Summit, Edi Rama is welcomed by Mark Rutte and President Erdogan

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama was received by NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte and Turkish President Erdogan.

The Prime Minister of Albania has published on social networks moments from the official greeting at the NATO Summit being held in Ankara.  

Prime Minister Edi Rama's agenda includes a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, as well as participating in a working session with the leaders of allied states.

Rama will also hold a bilateral meeting with the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Five NATO member countries are expected to meet the alliance's new target of spending over 3.5% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) on essential defense by 2026, according to updated data published by NATO.

The figures were released ahead of a NATO leaders' summit in Ankara and show a significant increase in military investment by some allied countries, while pressure to strengthen defense capabilities has increased, particularly from US President Donald Trump.
