A 24-year-old man has been arrested by Durrës police after he was driving a motorcycle armed with a firearm.

The young man Çim Kazazi had put the gun in the seat of the motorcycle and was then seized by the police after being stopped for a check in the area known as the beach promenade. Meanwhile, the other person who was traveling with the 24-year-old was also placed under investigation and charged with "Failure to Report a Crime".

Çim Kazazi is also the brother of Kid Kazazi, who is the perpetrator of a gunshot wound in Durrës and previously held the position of chairman of the Democratic Party Youth Forum in Kavajë.

The police operation codenamed "PURPOSE" is being finalized by the Durrës Police Station, in cooperation with the Kavajë Police Station.

The 24-year-old was caught and handcuffed while riding a motorcycle, armed with a firearm, on the beach promenade.

The firearm, ammunition and the vehicle he was driving were seized.

The passenger is also being prosecuted for the criminal offense of "Failure to report a crime".

The services of the Durrës Police Station and those of the Kavajë Police Station had provided information that a citizen from Kavajë was traveling on a motorcycle, armed with a pistol, towards Durrës.

Immediately, the services of the Durrës Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the services of the Kavajë Police Commissariat, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "PURPOSE".

As part of the operation, in neighborhood no. 13, at the place called the beach promenade, the Police services found and stopped the motorcycle that was suspected of being driven by the citizen armed with a firearm.

During the physical search, the Police services found citizen Ç. K., in the seat of the vehicle, a firearm, a Glock pistol, with combat ammunition, which were seized as material evidence.

Following the actions, the arrest in flagrante delicto of citizen Ç. K., 24 years old, resident of Kavaja, was made.

Also, criminal proceedings were initiated against the passenger in the vehicle, citizen FM, 24 years old, resident of Kavaja, for the criminal offense of "Failure to report a crime".

In cooperation with the Prosecution, work continues to clarify the purpose of the 24-year-old's movement with a firearm and complete legal documentation of the case.

The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, for the criminal offenses "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Failure to report a crime", the police announced.
