A 42-year-old man has been arrested by Fier police after storing expired and smuggled medicines in his home, and then selling them in the city's pharmacies.

Bojken Bregovina was arrested after police found and seized 1,635 boxes of expired medications and 2,654 boxes without tax receipts in his apartment. These medications were then sold on the market, supplying pharmacies in Fier.

Bojken Bregovina is accused of the criminal offenses of "Production and trade in counterfeit or dangerous medicines and medical devices", "Hiding income", "Storage or storage of contraband goods" and "Trade and transportation of contraband goods".

A case of placing expired medicines on the market and smuggled medicines without a tax invoice is being investigated.

The police operation codenamed "Skadenca" is being finalized after months of investigative work followed by special investigative methods.

The 42-year-old was caught and arrested for storing various medications in his apartment without a tax invoice and a significant portion of them were expired, which he then put on the market, supplying pharmacies in the city of Fier.

Seized as material evidence were 1,635 boxes of various expired medications, as well as 2,654 boxes without tax receipts, suspected of being smuggled.

Specialists of the Economic-Financial Crimes Investigation Section, after several months of investigative work followed by special investigative methods, in cooperation with the Prosecution, based on the evidence obtained from the investigation, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Skadenca".

Based on the evidence obtained from the investigation, the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier has decided to allow the search of the apartment owned by citizen BB.

As a result of the inspection, a total of 4,289 boxes of various medications were found, a significant amount of which was expired and the rest without a tax invoice.

The investigation revealed that this citizen, for a long period of time, had been storing expired medications and then putting them on the market, supplying pharmacies in the city of Fier, with the aim of making a profit.

At the end of the actions, citizen BB, 42 years old, resident of Fier, was arrested in flagrante delicto.

The procedural materials will be referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier, in charge of citizen BB, for the criminal offenses "Production and trade of counterfeit medicines and medical devices or those dangerous to life and health", "Hiding income", "Storage or storage of contraband goods" and "Trade and transportation of contraband goods", the police statement states.
