The civic protest in Tirana has entered its 40th consecutive day, becoming the longest civic mobilization in Albania.

After gathering in Skanderbeg Square, the protesters began marching towards the Prime Minister's Office building, where daily rallies have been taking place for 40 evenings.

This Thursday, participants repeated the calls that have accompanied the protest since day one, including: "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison", "Rama resigns" and "Albania Demands Revolution".

The movement initially began as a reaction to the project to build a tourist resort near the Narta Lagoon, a protected area known for its flamingo population.

However, as the weeks passed, the protest has expanded, including demands related to education, healthcare, employment, the cost of living, corruption, and governance.

Protesters are also demanding more transparency for major public projects and investigations into suspected corruption cases, while organizers have announced that the rallies will continue in the coming days.
