Kreshnik Farruku, a person wanted by Italian authorities, has surrendered to the Durrës Police together with his brother Erneo Farruku. 

Kreshnik Farruku (Budlla) is the head of the Farruku clan, known for criminal activities.

Today, the Durrës Court decided to keep them under house arrest until their extradition to Italy, where they are wanted due to the security measure imposed by the Brescia Court.

They were internationally wanted and their assets were confiscated in December last year, following investigations related to the clan's illegal activities.

Following the surrender, authorities are continuing the relevant investigations and procedures, while they will face the charges for which they were wanted.

'The Narcotics Investigation Specialists of the Durrës Police Department executed the arrest warrant for citizens KB alias KF(K.), 51 years old, and EF, 37 years old (brothers), both residents of Durrës, declared internationally wanted by the Italian authorities, for the criminal offenses of "Criminal organization" and "Trafficking in narcotics". These 2 citizens have surrendered themselves to the premises of the Durrës Local Police Directorate. In cooperation with Interpol Rome, procedures for their extradition to Italy are ongoing.', the police announced.

The Durrës Court today approved the temporary arrest of Kreshnik Farruku and his brother, due to suspicions that he is involved in a criminal organization and drug trafficking.

This decision was made following a request from the Italian authorities, after the Court of Brescia, Italy, had imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on him for these charges. A second measure, "House arrest", was also imposed to ensure the existence of further investigations.

'1. Approval of the temporary arrest of the Albanian citizen KB alias SF (K.), son of R. and Xh., born in 1974, after the Court of Brescia, Italy, with decision No. 12042/2020 RGNR-5352/2021 RI GIP, dated 29.08.2024, has ordered against him the precautionary measure of "Arrest in prison", as a suspect for the offenses of "Criminal organization" and "Trafficking in narcotics" provided for by Italian criminal legislation.

2. The imposition of the personal security measure "House arrest", provided for by Article 237 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, against the person under investigation KB alias SF (K.), a measure which will be executed in his apartment located at "FN" Street, A., M., Durrës, (according to his statement at the hearing).

3. The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Durrës is ordered to execute this decision.

4. An appeal may be filed against this decision within 5 days at the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction of Tirana, starting this deadline from the day after the communication of the reasoned decision.

It was announced today in Durrës, on 07.01.2025.', says the decision of the Durrës Court.

In December 2024, the Special Court confiscated 27 properties of this clan, registered in the names of Kreshnik Farruku and brother Erneo Farruku, including agricultural land, apartments, shops and vehicles.

Among the confiscated assets are several properties in Tirana and Durrës, apartments in luxury buildings, "Mercedes Benz" and "Smart" brand vehicles, as well as the businesses "Eco Energy System" and "Rrotull-Beton".

The assets were seized due to suspicions that they were the proceeds of criminal activities, including drug trafficking and money laundering.

The two brothers lead the Farruku clan, a group that was busted in Spain in 2023 after a mega-operation against cocaine trafficking. The 2023 mega-operation seized 2 tons of cocaine that was suspected to have been ordered by the Farruku clan in Ecuador and was to be brought into Spain.

Kreshnik Farruku Budlla is the Albanian with 10 names to escape justice and with assets of over 1 million euros in Lalzi Bay.

In May 2010, Farruku was arrested along with 7 other gang members in Barcelona. In 2014, Kreshnik Farruku escaped from prison and was arrested in 2019 while wanted in Spain and Italy for cocaine trafficking and burglaries of several apartments.

In 2015, Kreshnik Farruk was assassinated in Albania in the Don Bosko area.

According to Spanish media, Kreshnik Budlla was suspected of killing his boss in Spain in 2010, due to drug dealing, but it later emerged that the murder had been prepared by Devi Kasmi, who was killed in an assassination attempt in January 2018 in Tirana.
