Kukes police arrested today a citizen from Romania, who was trying to transport 70 kg of cannabis from Morina customs to EU countries.

It is about the citizen with the initials FB, 48 years old, who was arrested under the charge of "narcotics trafficking".

As material evidence, the police seized the narcotics, the vehicle and 2 mobile phones.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Kuka Judicial District Court, for further actions.

The coded police operation "Indicia", developed by the Kukës Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Morinë Border Police, is finalized.

A case of attempted international narcotics trafficking is struck.

The operation was finalized thanks to the information provided by the information intelligence and administered by the anti-narcotics investigative structures of DVP Kuka.

About 70 kilograms of suspected narcotic cannabis were seized.

The 48-year-old man from Romania, who was transporting the narcotic substance, was arrested.

The investigative structures of DVP Kukës, based on the information provided for a case of attempted international trafficking of narcotics, from Kukës to one of the EU countries, in cooperation with the Border Police and the customs authorities, have organized and finalized the coded police operation "Indicia".

In the framework of this operation, at PKK Morinë, at the exit of RSh, the Police services passed to the second line, for a more detailed control, the "Benz" type vehicle, driven by the Romanian citizen FB, for which information was available obtained through informational intelligence, from the investigative structures of DVP Kuka.

During the detailed inspection carried out by the Police services, in the lower part of the vehicle driven by this citizen, in the chassis, in a space adapted to hide narcotics, dozens of packages filled with suspected cannabis narcotics were found, with total weight of about 70 kilograms, which was seized as material evidence, together with the vehicle and 2 mobile devices.

At the end of the procedural actions, the specialists of the Sector for the Investigation of Narcotics and Illegal Trafficking of DVP Kukë arrested in the act the citizen FB, 48 years old, resident in Romania, for the criminal offense "Trafficking of narcotics".

In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the Kukas Judicial District Court, the in-depth investigation continues, for the complete clarification of this case, as well as for the identification and capture of other citizens implicated in this criminal activity.
