An officer of the Traffic Police was injured this Saturday after a truck tire burst in the place called "Malorja e Erebarë", on the Maqellare-Peshkopi axis.

The serious incident happened around 14:00, as a traffic police patrol went to regulate the traffic after blocking the road.

The cause was a trailer which could not climb the hill and consequently blocked the road.

The police officer, Tonin Tosku, was driving the vehicles on the other side of the road, about 2-3 meters away, parallel to the tires of the stopped truck, when one of the rear tires burst.

As a result of the great pressure, the officer received serious wounds on both legs and body. He was immediately transported by an emergency car to the Dibër Regional Hospital, where he received first aid and was then transported by helicopter to the Trauma Hospital.

The surgeon Erjol Braholli explains that the condition of the Rrugore officer is serious and after receiving help they were forced to take him to the Trauma Hospital.
