Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted again on the social network Facebook, defending the "Mountain Package" and emphasizing its importance for the economic development of mountainous areas in Albania.

In his response, Rama raised the question of whether landowners in mountainous areas, including those with inherited land, should not have the opportunity to enjoy their property by developing agrotourism, farms or agro-processing units. According to him, the problem of lack of ownership certificates due to the non-acceptance of law 7501 has hindered access to construction permits, state subsidies, EU funds and bank loans for years.

Rama argued that the “Mountain Package” aims to close this legal loophole and pave the way for investment, especially from Albanian emigrants who want to turn their savings into economic development in mountainous areas.

He also responded to criticisms about the impact on protected areas, stressing that development and nature protection are not incompatible. According to him, there are different categories of protected areas and European models, such as Austria, show that tourism and nature can coexist through controlled and quality development.

At the end of his reaction, Rama emphasized that Albania must move towards a development model where nature is not isolated from the economy, but becomes a main source of economic growth and sustainable tourism.
