The Court of Saranda has released 17-year-old K. Cora, imposing the security measure "House Arrest" on him.

Cora was arrested by the Saranda police on Thursday, as the suspected perpetrator of the stabbing of 17-year-old B. Kalemi, an incident that occurred on "Butrinti" street in Saranda.

Kalemi received 3 stab wounds to the stomach and hip and was transported to Vlora Hospital for more specialized treatment, while Cora was arrested.

A third person, a friend of Kalemi's, was also involved in the incident, and was accompanied to the police station to give a statement.

After investigations, the Saranda Prosecutor's Office discovered that the event had a different course than initially reported.

It is suspected that Cora had attempted to attack Kalemi and in self-defense had injured him with a knife.

For this reason, prosecutor Esmeranda Basho changed the charge against him to "Serious injury in exceeding the limits of necessary protection" and requested the legal validation of the arrest in flagrante delicto and the assignment of the security measure "House arrest" to the suspect. Even

Preliminary investigation judge Edona Vajushi imposed the same security measure on Cora, who will reach the age of majority in 7 months.

Judge Vajushi decided that the 17-year-old must remain and not leave his apartment, located in neighborhood no. 4, “Guri Nazifi” Street, Saranda, with the exception of the hours of attending teaching and educational processes, after approval of the movement permit by the prosecution.

Meanwhile, it is still unknown whether charges will be filed for the assault on 17-year-old Cora, as sources indicate that even from his physical examination, signs of assault were observed.
