In an emergency flood situation, the Institute of Public Health has addressed some advice to citizens to protect themselves. Among the advice given by the ISP, there are also those of avoiding low places such as basements or underpasses.
Instructions made by the PIH:
Avoid low places such as basements or underpasses. These become extremely dangerous during a flood.
Do not walk through flooded areas. It can be difficult to understand how deep the water level is and what lies in it.
If you must walk in water, wherever possible walk where the water is not moving. Use a stick to check the stability of the ground in front of you.
Do not drive in flooded areas. If floodwaters rise around your car, abandon the car and move to higher ground or ground—only if you can do so safely.
Do not touch electrical equipment if you are wet or standing in water.
