Weather worsens in Durrës, small vessel navigation banned

The maritime authorities of Durrës have warned of deteriorating hydrometeorological conditions in the Adriatic and Ionian Seas starting at 08:00 on December 23, 2024.

Forecasts indicate strong winds from the South-Southeast and North-Northwest, with force up to 6-7, speed up to 20 m/s and wave heights up to 3.3 meters.

To avoid dangerous situations, the following measures have been taken:

Prohibition of departure permits for small craft and fishing vessels operating on the high seas, starting at 08:00 on December 23.

The operators of small vessels and fishing vessels are obliged to take measures to secure their vessels and increase the readiness of the crew.

International maritime transport vessels will continue to operate normally according to their itineraries.
Authorities announce that the improvement of the situation is expected to occur after 16:00 on December 24, 2024.
