A harsh winter is predicted in terms of the epidemiological situation this year. The lack of circulation of the flu virus during the years of the covid pandemic, experts say, can cause a high number of infected people and according to them the flu virus is even more stubborn than covid, especially in chronic patients.

Until now, it has been said that the type A virus is circulating, but its subtype has not yet been determined

"It is expected that we will have a flu season, it is the most unpredictable disease. The lack of flu circulation during the last two years can lead to an increase in flu levels, as has happened in the Southern Hemisphere," says Silva Bindo for TCh.

While the situation with covid seems to have softened, experts call not to stop vaccination as the number of infections may increase, but not of hospitalizations or deaths.

"The recommendation of the PIH is that both vaccines be given simultaneously. The elderly should be vaccinated on the same day in different arms," ​​adds Bino.

Although the rates of vaccination against covid have dropped significantly, the government continues to buy quantities of vaccines from the Pfizer company.
