The conservative MP of Great Britain, Roger Gale, has called the British presenter Jeremy Kyle's comments about Albanian immigrants insulting. During a radio talk, when Kyle called Albanian immigrants criminals, Gale contradicted him saying that they are not and that the presenter's description was irrational.
Jeremy Kyle told TalkTV: I'm specifically talking to Roger about 10,000 male Albanian criminals coming in on small boats infesting our country and committing crimes. Don't you think as an MP in that sort of area because I'm hearing from hundreds of people that this is an absolutely terrible thing that's going to happen in 2022 in the UK?"
Sir Roger replied: Jeremy, you are speaking quite plain and direct and you know I am too and in fact what you have just said is abrasive, insulting. It's not 10,000 Albanian criminals coming... either we're going to have a reasonable conversation about it or we're not.
Kyle replied: So you're telling me there aren't 10,000 immigrants from Albania, criminals who have come to this country? 10,000 Albanian immigrant men between the ages of 20 and 40, two percent of their population.
Sir Roger objected: So we have now reduced the argument to one level. Now we are talking about 10,000 Albanian men, which is correct. But don't emotionally and irrationally describe them as 10,000 criminals, because they are not who they are not.
MPs heard earlier that around 12,000 Albanians have arrived in the UK after crossing the Channel so far this year, of which 10,000 are single, adult men. This compares to 50 in 2020.
