For the first time in Albania, the team of "Shefqet Ndroqi" Hospital in Tirana has successfully performed MIDCAB minimally invasive coronary surgery, helping three patients to restore their health.
The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, considered this another step forward for Albanian medicine.
Koçiu said that "this innovative procedure, which is performed in only 30% of cardiac surgery centers worldwide, is an achievement for our health system and a proof of the dedication of our doctors to bring the most advanced technologies to Albania".
The minister expressed her gratitude to the team of doctors and nurses who made this success possible: dr. Dec. Albi Fagu, dr. Ketion Menkshi, dr. Marjeta Bilaj, dr. Anri Gongo, dr. Eliana Shima, Ervisa Kurti, Mariola Ozuni, Inis Disha, Marinela Agolli, and Samet Mulaj.
"With their dedication and professionalism, they have raised the standards of health care in our country, making us proud that Albania is now ranked among the countries that offer this advanced surgical procedure", said Minister Koçiu.
