A tragic accident recorded on Sunday that happened on the beach of Velipoja between two jet-skis took the life of the 19-year-old Italian, Nicola Iorio.
He had come on vacation with his girlfriend and her girlfriend's brother, with the latter being arrested by Shkodra police for manslaughter.
The girlfriend of the 19-year-old, Giusy Di Tella, reacted to this situation, as well as the sister of the arrested, Salvatore Di Tella, who emphasizes that they were neither under the influence of alcohol nor any drugs, contrary to what the police emphasize .
"Albanian authorities have released the body of my beloved and we are preparing to return to Italy, but I want to strongly emphasize that it was just a tragic accident, an unexpected collision. We didn't drink alcohol or drugs. Me, my fiance and my brother have always been very close together ", says Giusy at the beginning, Italian media reports.
The 20-year-old also adds that she was with Nicola on the jet ski and defended her brother Salvatore, saying he was not at fault, accusing the police of giving a completely wrong version.
"The two jet skis were far apart and we were not as far from shore as reported. I was shooting a video with my cellphone when Nicola told me to turn it off. At that moment, there was a crash on the right side of our jet ski. My brother immediately jumped into the sea to save Nicola and pulled his body ashore, which was then transported to the hospital, where he did not survive. But I want to reiterate that it was just a tragic accident. My brother was not at fault, even my boyfriend's family says exactly that. But here, in Albania, they definitely want to find a culprit: that's why we ask for help from the Italian authorities ," the girl declared.
The young people were in Albania after being invited to a wedding and had decided to spend a few days of vacation on the beach of Velipoja.
