An Albanian woman was hospitalized in Migliarina, Italy, after being mercilessly stabbed by her ex-partner. Fortunately, the Albanian young woman is out of danger for her life, after the attack that took place inside a bus full of people heading towards a coastal area full of vacationers.

The frightening scene of violence terrified passers-by in the neighborhood, while the young woman spoke from the hospital, where after the first reaction she asked for information about her children. "Where are my children, how are they? I hope to get out of the hospital soon and see my children again, I will never leave them again", she said, according to Italian media.

She still has fresh scars that will remain marked on her skin forever, but her lawyer Massimiliano Leçese only asked her about the children, and he tried to calm her down as the girl kept crying. Meanwhile, a few hundred meters away, her ex-partner, 37-year-old Sokol Begaj, is in a cell in Andreino prison, accused of attempted murder.

"He is in a state of deep humility," says his lawyer, Cristian Falconi. "He is going through a difficult psychological situation because he cannot understand what happened." Just a day earlier, the former couple had reached an out-of-court agreement on custody of the children.

"They came to the studio together, they seemed to have found an understanding. We have seen many couples fight over child custody. They didn't. And then they left together. Everything seemed calm. But no. So what happened in those few hours from Thursday afternoon to Friday at 2:00 p.m., when Sokol's rage hit his ex-partner, seriously injuring her with seven stab wounds to the body?” says attorney Falconi.

To understand the event, we need to take a few steps back. It is February when custody of two children is discussed in juvenile court, and harmony in the couple has long since ended.

The ex-partner denounced Begaj for domestic violence, a cause that has not yet been discussed in court. Social workers intervened to try to avoid further traumatic problems for the toddlers and the children were entrusted to the mother, but a curator was also appointed to oversee the situation together with social services.

Meanwhile, in recent months, Begaj has tried to find a compromise with his ex-partner. Thursday was the big day and they went to the law office together where they agreed on practically everything.

"Alternate weekends, gradually more and more frequent visits from the father", says their agreement. "Everything was ready to take the deal to court and have it ratified by the judges," say the lawyers.

So what happened. There is no confirmation, but qualified sources of the investigators say that Sokol Begaj was hospitalized on Thursday evening. There is talk of a psychological crisis, but it is not clear. What is certain is that after leaving the hospital, the man went to visit his parents who live in Viale Italia, in a building right in front of the station that would become the scene of the ambush against his ex-wife, Ilsecoloxix .

In the apartment, the little boy is with his grandparents, while the big boy is in a summer camp. In theory, Sokol should not see his ex-wife. It is unclear whether she knew he was there or not, but the fact is that he is on the door of the ex-in-laws. It doesn't stick, but he had a violent verbal confrontation with his ex-partner, first on the phone and then at the entrance to the apartment.

The rest is history. Sokol quickly descends the stairs as he is, in slippers and shirtless. He has a kitchen knife in his hand, the serrated kind for cutting bread. The woman tries to escape screaming in terror through the deserted Viale Italia. No one heard her pleas for help, but a bus arrived, headed for Porto Venere beach,  Ilsecoloxix .

The woman got on the bus, but there she received the first stabbing. Her ex-husband also boarded the bus and unleashed a series of blows among the terrified crowd, who did not understand what was happening.

He left the woman on the ground bleeding and in a state of shock. She was rescued by some volunteers who found some towels and pressed the wounds to avoid bleeding. Then the delicate surgical operation in the hospital, from which she thankfully came out safe. Meanwhile, Sokol returned to his parents' house, as if nothing had happened, and there he was arrested,  Ilsecoloxix .

Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. there will be a validation session at the jail. Meanwhile, the juvenile court has temporarily entrusted the custody of the children to the paternal grandparents. But the mother wants them to return with her, as she said: "When I am better, I will never leave them again."
