In connection with a news published on the "JOQ Albania" portal, about a French tourist who accused a taxi driver that during the trip from Tirana to Vlora, the taxi driver sexually harassed her, we clarify the public opinion that:

The General Director of the State Police, after becoming aware of the case published on the "JOQ Albania" portal, immediately ordered the Local Police structures of Tirana, Durrës, Fier and Vlora, to carry out verifications and legal actions for this case.

In addition, the General Director has ordered the Directorate of Professional Standards in the State Police to carry out verifications regarding the implementation of standard work procedures, for receiving, administering and following up the legal report for this case, if this citizen had made one. in Police structures.

From the verifications carried out by the Police structures, it has been found that this citizen has not filed a report in any police structure in the whole country.

From the verifications carried out, it was found that the French citizen, on 04.09.2023, traveled with a taxi vehicle of a company that offers taxi service, and in the middle of the road she asked the company for another vehicle, also from this company. alleging that the driver of the vehicle was sexually harassing her. The company made another company vehicle available to her and the French tourist left.

At the end of the first investigative actions carried out by the Specialists of the Sector for the Investigation of Cybercrimes in DVP Tirana, the driver of the taxi, an EC citizen, 28 years old, was declared wanted.

After searching for his location and capture, it became possible to capture and escort the 28-year-old to the Tirana Local Police Directorate for further procedural actions which are being carried out under the direction of the Prosecutor.

The State Police is committed and focused on the fight against crime in general and organized crime in particular, and in this context, once again invites citizens and the media to report any case of illegality, guaranteeing an immediate and professional response.
