Over 153 thousand requests have been made by Albanian emigrants to the Central Election Commission to register as voters in the May 11 elections, and almost all requests have been reviewed.

According to official data from the CEC, out of 125,477 (unique) voters who applied for registration, 97,264 of them had their requests approved, while 27,892 others were rejected.

But what is seen as a problem in the registration process by the CEC itself is the lack of attention to following the videos and help manuals on the PER platform, which facilitate the registration procedure.

The head of the Central Election Commission, Ilirjan Celibashi, has shared in a Facebook post dozens of the most unusual photos that Albanians living abroad have uploaded to the platform to prove their address or civil status.

What is striking is the massive number of couple or even family photos that have been uploaded by Albanians in the Diaspora, mainly to answer the question about their civil status.

But there you can also find photos of cups, or other images that do not match the information requested by the CEC.

Meanwhile, Celibashi calls on compatriots abroad to carefully follow the help manuals on the PER platform to learn how to register.

"Since January 11, 2025, on the PER Platform, under the HELP Button, there are videos, tutorials and help manuals for registering as an Overseas Voter. We ask applicants to look at them carefully before making mistakes with their application as in the following photos. In PER, you can reapply without limit until March 4, 2025, so the CEC Albania brings to your attention the Help Button and the PER Non-Stop Help Center under the same button. Share the post to inform your friends and relatives abroad," writes Celibashi.
