Lawyer Radovan Çela, accused by SPAK of attempting to corrupt judicial officials in the "Toyota Yaris" case, has surrendered to the police.

Çela was the lawyer for cousins ​​Arif and Elvis Vladi, who were arrested in 2018 after attempting to smuggle a large sum of money of 3.4 million euros into Albania, hidden in a Toyota Auris car.

A "prison arrest" measure was issued against Çela and he was declared wanted since July 2024.

According to SPAK, he intervened in at least 4 cases of corruption of judicial officials when the "Toyota Yaris" file was in the Serious Crimes Prosecutor's Office.

"From the sources of evidence collected during the preliminary investigations of this criminal proceeding, reasonable suspicions have been created that the persons under investigation Alfred Vladi, Radovan Çela, Eriona Dautaj and Aurel Zarka, in collaboration and on several occasions, have offered and promised irregular benefits to exert influence on justice officials, have accepted promises and accepted irregular benefits to exert influence on justice officials, have offered irregular benefits to justice officials, and have requested irregular benefits to carry out actions related to their function and duty, according to the episodes and respective charges for each of them," SPAK states.
