The former judicial police officer at the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, who was declared internationally wanted by SPAK, has been arrested in the United States and extradited to Albania.

Citizen Fatbrdh Lala is accused of "Exercising illegal influence over persons exercising public functions" and "Disclosure of secret acts or data", after he is accused of having received money from the mother of a defendant with the promise that he would give it to the prosecutor and judge of the case, as well as having passed on investigative data to them.

The GJKKO had imposed the measure of "prison arrest" on him, but it could not be executed because he had left the country.

According to SPAK, defendants Ermir Llagaçi and Tefta Llagaçi, in collaboration with each other, gave the monetary amount of 55,000 lek to Judicial Police Officer Fatbardh Lala, after the latter acted as guarantor and assured them that he could exert influence on the justice officials, namely the prosecutor and the judge, who were responsible for the investigation and further trial of the criminal case in question.

Another successful extradition operation is carried out, with US law enforcement partners.

The Criminal Police Department of the State Police, in coordination with the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) and the Federal Agency DSS/OCIU, present at the United States Embassy in Tirana, has managed to locate and arrest in the United States, an Albanian citizen, internationally wanted, with an arrest warrant from the Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO), to face charges and the justice system in Albania.

Albanian citizen FL, 56 years old, former Judicial Police officer at the Tirana General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office, was wanted in Albania for criminal offenses in the field of corruption and disclosure of state secrets.

Citizen FL was extradited around 3:00 PM today.

This operation to locate, arrest and extradite this citizen came as a result of several months of joint efforts between Albanian and American law enforcement agencies.

The State Police thanks the international partners of the US federal agencies DSS and ICE-ERO, for all their work and maximum dedication in this extradition/deportation operation.
