Interior Minister Ervin Hoxha , at the end of the Government meeting , gave good news for the Police officers.
In a statement to the media, the minister said that during this meeting, the government cabinet approved an act that will protect police officers from threats made to them as a result of their work.
According to Hoxha, through this act, they aim to increase cooperation with institutions such as the Intelligence Services and SPAK, in the fight against organized crime.
Through this decision approved this Thursday by the Council of Ministers, Hoxha said that the first form for a police officer to "raise his voice" about the threats that have been made to him is the "immediate form where the Director General of the State Police issues a protection order for the Police Officer", while the second form is when the officer addresses the commission and raises the concern.
"Through this act, we open today a new journey for the sacrifice and protection of police officers from the numerous threats made to them, and here we give the opportunity to once again state the priority that the lives, health and property of police officers have in relation to the Albanian government," the minister said, among other things.
