This Sunday, the detention facility in Saranda was finally closed.

It is learned that in the early hours of this morning, the transfer of prisoners with police vans to the prison of Fier has started. A part of the detention staff of Saranda has agreed to be transferred to work in other prisons in Albania. Meanwhile, the institution will function for a while until the documentation is completed.

Now, the family members of these detainees, as well as lawyers or prosecutors, will have to go all the way to Fier for services in the function of their work. But the detained persons should also be brought to Saranda for court hearings.
