GJKKO has decided to continue the security measure for businessman Valter Begaj, collaborator with the former head of ARRSH, Evis Berberi.

A few days ago, the Appeal of GJKKO rejected the request of businessman Valter Begaj for the removal of the sequestration against the company "DAMM shpk".

Valter Begaj is accused of being the key person who served to clean the money obtained through illegal tenders from the head of the ARRSH.

Notification:

1. Petitioner Valter Begaj on 27.05.2024 submitted to the Court the request with the object: "Written information is requested on the state of criminal proceedings No. 214/2023 and verification of insurance needs for the person under investigation Valter Begaj".

2. At the end of the trial, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime with a panel composed of judge Elsa Ulliri, based on Article 260 of the Penal Code, with decision No. 309, dated 26.07.2024, decided:

1. Verification and obtaining of information by the Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime on the investigations carried out and the security needs for the case under trial.

2. Continuation of the security measure "Arrest in prison", provided by article 238 of the Criminal Code assigned to citizen Valter Begaj by the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime by means of decision No. 21 , dated 13.03.2024, approved by the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime by decision No. 16, dated 25.04.2024.

3. Court costs charged to the requesting party.

4. An appeal against this decision is allowed in the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime within 5 days, starting from the day after the communication of the decision.
