Starting next year, all high school graduates who will have complaints about the grade obtained in the Matura exams may have the opportunity to have their thesis rechecked and the grade revised.
The change in the article in the State Matura Regulation was proposed in a meeting that the Minister of Education, Evis Kushi, held with the State Matura Committee, teachers and leaders of educational institutions.
The minister also announced that she will begin an evaluation and ranking of high schools according to quality, based on a new external evaluation package.
" Even court decisions are appealed. We are not infallible. So that changed. The continuous improvement of the matura process is a priority for us, therefore this discussion will continue with all actors of the system, in order to make the most fair decisions. Next, we thought of an external assessment for high schools. We will make a ranking of them, a quality ranking. The performance card is an element that schools do a self-evaluation based on criteria and some measurable indicators. Together with ASCAP, we need to design a system and some measuring criteria on how to evaluate high schools and their rankings. This would also help the high schools themselves to see where they are and to make improvements in certain aspects," said Minister Kushi.
In order to increase the quality in the State Matura process, there will be a pilot of an electronic test for graduates who choose the General Medicine program, with the objective that in the coming years it can be extended to all matura examinations.
