Agreement with Italy on migrants, former Italian Prime Minister VISITS Gjadri

Italian Senator, former Prime Minister Matteo Renzi is visiting the Gjadri camp in Lezha.

This visit comes after the Italian court's decision, which ruled in favor of the Italian government regarding the agreement with Albania on immigrants.

The Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, has herself committed to the implementation of this agreement, and has expressed her determination to achieve this objective, which, according to her, has been welcomed by all European Union countries.

According to the agreement with Italy, signed between the two governments on November 6, 2023, the port of disembarkation of refugees from third countries is Shëngjini, where a reception center has been established.

Meanwhile, a camp has been set up in Gjadra where immigrants will stay until their asylum requests are reviewed.
