Ilir Mimimi , 55 years old, lost his life as a result of an accident that occurred this evening on the "Pogradec-Qafë Thanë" road axis, in the village of Mëmëlisht.

In 2000, 25 years ago, the 55-year-old's father was fatally hit by a car in the same place.

Ilir Mimimi died at the scene, while the driver who caused the accident fled the scene.

Police announcement:

A 55-year-old man was hit by a vehicle and fled the scene of the accident. After intensive pursuit and checks by the Police, the driver of the vehicle, citizen DJ, 29 years old, was identified and declared wanted.

Specialists from the Road Traffic Sector, after intensive checks and monitoring of cameras in the area where the accident occurred, have made it possible to identify the vehicle and its driver, who left the scene of the accident.

At around 18:45, in the village of Mëmëlisht, this citizen, with the vehicle he was driving, hit citizen IM, 55 years old, a pedestrian, who died as a result of the injuries she sustained.

Work continues to arrest the 29-year-old. The procedural materials will be passed on to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
