The release from prison of former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri seems to have worried the international partners of justice reform.
The American Embassy in Tirana has confirmed to the media that they are following with concern the release of the former minister and that they are looking for the process documents.
"We are following with concern the release of Saimir Tahir and we are looking for the documents of the process", says the embassy's response.
Today, two forensic experts convinced the court to release Tahir and decided that he will serve the remainder of his sentence of 1 year, 8 months and 15 days at home.
In one of the medical-legal expertises, it was said that Tahiri has health problems. While in the second report-expertise, it is explained that the wife of the former minister is not in good health and as a result, there is no one to take care of the children.
Meanwhile, the situation for his family has worsened, according to Tahir's lawyers, due to the death of the former minister's father some time ago.
The request, which was made six months ago in the Court of Elbasan, was accepted this Friday.
