Kamber Sulçaj, accused of the murder of Italian businessman Edoardo Sarchi in Tepelena on September 27, has been remanded in custody indefinitely. The 48-year-old appeared before the First Instance Court in Gjirokastër two days after surrendering to the Prosecutor's Office for the assessment of the security measure of his arrest in prison.
The prosecutor in the case, Blerina Musabelli, presented the investigative group's acts from the scene and the circumstances up to Sulçaj's surrender.
Afterwards, his lawyer from Vlora, Arsenal Zotaj, presented, among other things, the fact of the client's surrender, considering it as a mitigating circumstance.
The 48-year-old himself remained silent throughout the entire security measure assessment session. His lawyer stated that he will appeal the indefinite imprisonment measure issued by Judge Entela Selmanaj to the Tirana Court of Appeal.
