At the last meeting of 2022, the Technical Committee decided not to take measures for citizens traveling from China to our country, despite the significant increase in new cases in the Asian country.

"For several days there has been a significant increase in new daily cases in the Republic of China, accompanied by admissions to hospitals and intensive care units. We still have no information from the Chinese health authorities about the strains of the virus responsible.

In this context, some countries, such as the USA, Japan, Taiwan, India and Italy, have taken as a measure, the presentation of the Covid test for the SARSCov2 infection, for those travelers coming from the Republic of China.

The European Center for Disease Control and Prevention or ECDC, as well as the EC Security Commission, which met yesterday (as well as the United Kingdom), currently do not see the outbreak of a new epidemic wave as a high risk, but due to the fact that the virus also circulates in Europe and the level of immunization is good, therefore it recommends the continuation of careful monitoring of the dynamics of this situation.

Even our expert committee, after analyzing the epidemiological situation, in the country in Europe even further, estimates that it will continue to monitor very carefully the dynamics of this situation, and will evaluate the measures taken by other countries and the recommendations of the ECDC and of WHO. We will assess step by step the need for additional measures in accordance with the dynamics of the development of the economic situation", says the statement of the Technical Committee of Experts.

In the meantime, citizens who have previously received the other two doses are urged to take the third dose of the vaccine.

"The developments of the pandemic are always and more clearly demonstrating the value of vaccination. Let's continue to carry out vaccinations according to the recommendations of the family doctor, so that we are not affected by a new wave. Therefore, those citizens who have received two doses of the basic vaccine and have not received the third or fourth dose should immediately go to the vaccination centers and receive these doses. Because they are also with the vaccine, which is responsible for protecting against the new variants of OMICRON, which are the ones that are circulating today. Likewise, those who have not yet performed the basic vaccination should go to our vaccination centers to apply this vaccine, it is the only way that protects us from the disease and protects us from the outbreak of a new wave" .
