Wanted by Kosovo for cultivating narcotics, 49-year-old arrested in Tirana

A 49-year-old man from Tepelena has been arrested by Tirana police.

Oltion Shehu was declared wanted after in February of this year the Basic Court of Gjakova sentenced him to prison for the criminal offense of "Cultivation of narcotic plants".

The 49-year-old is expected to be extradited to Kosovo.

"As a result of the exchange of information and close partnership with law enforcement agencies in Kosovo, the services of the Directorate of the Special Operational Force of the General Directorate of the State Police, arrested in Tirana, within the framework of the operation "Operacionalja 69", citizen O. Sh., 49 years old, born in Tepelena.

He was declared wanted because the Basic Court of Gjakova, in February 2025, assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison" for the criminal offense of "Cultivation of narcotic plants".

"Interpol Tirana continues to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in Kosovo to finalize the procedure for the extradition of the 49-year-old," the police announced today.
