In the village of Nikël in Krujë, Marklen Haka, one of the most wanted by Albanian justice, who was hiding in Dubai for some time, was arrested today.

The State Police announces that the "Bacungu Lake" operation that led Haka behind bars started a week ago and was finalized this Friday.

What stands out is that Haka is accompanied under strict security measures and barefoot.

"Thanks to the police intelligence, the services of the DVP Tirana in cooperation with the Special Department RENEA, organized the operation for the capture and arrest of the person with high social risk, citizen Marklen Haka alias Marklen Aliu. The operation was of a high degree of difficulty and danger, and it started on 02.09.2024 and was finalized today around 14:00. As a result of this operation, in the vicinity of Lake Bacungu, Nikël, Krujë, today, it became possible to locate, capture and arrest the citizen Marklen Haka (alias Marklen Aliu)", the police announced.

It is also reported that during the operation other people were accompanied and are being verified by the police.

In the facility where Marklen Haka was located and detained, RENEA operatives found and seized a pistol firearm.

Marklen Haka was declared wanted as part of the 'Revanshi' operation and a series of charges for serious criminal offenses weigh on him. The young man is known as part of the 'Nikla Gang', while on May 15 of this year, an international search warrant was issued for him by GJKKO, which is related to the charge of "premeditated murder remaining in the attempt" against Durim Bami.

"This citizen was declared an international wanted person after the decision 49/31 dated 15.05.2024, of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana, has decided to set the measure of personal security "Arrest in prison", in absence, for the criminal offenses "Premeditated murder", remaining in the attempt to the detriment of the DB citizen, committed in the special form of cooperation, that of the structured criminal group, "Structured criminal group", and "Commitment of criminal offenses by structured criminal group and criminal organization", provided by articles 78/2, 22, 28/4, 333/a/2 and 334 of the Criminal Code, "Providing the conditions and material means to commit murder", to the detriment of the citizen DB, carrying out a special form of cooperation, that of a structured criminal group, "Structured criminal group", and "Participation in a structured criminal group", provided by articles 80, 28/4, 333/ae 334 of the Criminal Code , "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", in collaboration, in the form of a structured criminal group, provided by articles 278/1, 28/4, 333/a/2 and 334 of the Criminal Code" , explains the police.

Marklen Haka is also known for the fact that he survived two assassination attempts on him. The first happened in September 2019, when he was shot at the door of his house and the perpetrators' attack left the young man's aunt, Shpresa Basha, dead. The second attack on him happened on June 8, 2022, when he was shot at at the entrance to the village of Nikël, but he dodged the bullet even though he received a bullet in his jaw.
